Anna Jane (on the left) and I (Linda) chilling out !
Over ten years ago, I sat in the library one day with my oldest daughter (then a toddler) to listen to the librarian tell stories. It was then I met AJ. Our kids hit it off right away, as did we. We’ve been best friends ever since. Our favorite times were family vacations camping at Jellystone Park and at their cottage. Quiet vacations weren’t possible with the eight kids between us, but we cherished the times together anyway. My girls love their Auntie AJ, and so do I. As “Forest Gump” would say – we are just like peas and carrots !
Throughout all these years, my family has been blessed with many wonderful keepsakes made by her loving hands. They range from lovely dresses, purses, wall hangings and veils, to embroidered pictures, coasters and placemats (only to name a few). They are treasured gifts that I and my girls will always have. Her talent never ceases to amaze me! She’s like the big sister I never had, and I’m proud & blessed to be her friend.
I have always enjoyed writing and find it flows pretty easily for me. One day, as I was doing clothes, the idea hit me like a “wet sock” in the face. We should combine our talents and make a site where we could sell the things that she loves to make and I would do rest. It seemed the like perfect partnership.
So here we are at Pursonality Plus – and we’re having a blast!
I hope you all enjoy her handmade gifts, made with the same love and quality, for many years to come.
Linda
I am a full time wife, mother and quilter. I started learning needle work under the patient guidance of my grandmother McCaul at the young age of six. She taught me all that I needed to know to begin my interest in embroidery, crochet and knitting. When I was young, I used to make doll clothes for my younger sisters. They still loved them even with my mistakes. As I got better, I then progressed to clothing construction in 4-H programs. Finally I started quilting as a creative outlet with the help of grandma Zwicky. I owe her so much!
When I met Linda, we connected right away as mothers and kindred spirits. Over the years our friendship has grown as much as our children have together. Linda has taught me to go through my days with a sense of fun and a sunny outlook. I thought life was serious till I met her! She has shown me the silver linings in the clouds of life.
She is a loyal friend, and we always have fun together. When she developed the idea of our website, her keen insight and showed through again. It was only logical that Pursonality Plus was the next step in our friendship. We are going to have so much fun!
Happy Quilting,
AJ
P.S. On a Final Note – I thought this Web “stuff” was going to be easy.
Boy was I wrong! (It must have been some middle – age dream, somewhere between night sweats and the cats knocking the lamp off the table). So I apologize in advance for any “bloopers “on our pages. I’m working on it.
Can you keep a secret? AJ and I feel great about our site because this is Our “baby” , good or bad, and we are proud of it ! So when your kids tell you you’re too old to do something cool, make a website to burst their bubble. My teen is pretty impressed now with what her “old mama”can do!
JUST REMEMBER THAT IN THE END…
“GIRLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN!!”
